Explore the city of Launceston before driving to Bridestowe Lavender Farm through fertile agricultural lands, myrtle forests, dairy farms and spectacular waterfalls.  Stay overnight in Bicheno and see the Little Penguins.

 

Explore the pristine beaches and red lichen rocks and clear waters of the East coast at Binalong Bay, the start of the Bay of Fires and Wineglass Bay in the Freycinet National Park.  

 

Continue home via the Lake Leake Highway and explore the historic village of Ross before returning to Launceston.

Itinerary

  • Pick up Day 1 from Launceston CBD at 09:00;

  • Drop off Day 2 in Launceston CBD at around18:00;

  • Tour Duration of 2 days of approximately 9 hours duration each day;

Day 1

  1. Launceston City:-  A brief introduction to historic Launceston, Australia's third oldest city;

  2. Bridestowe Lavender Farm:-  Seasonal colour between December and late January when harvesting is complete;

  3. Scottsdale & Legerwood:- Explore the agricultural areas and the avenue of  wood carvings; 

  4. Pyengana:- Stop for cheese tastings and drive to St Columba Falls with a 90m vertical drop and high flow of water;

  5. Myrtle Forrest:-  Marvel at the age of these fine trees in a brief 15-minute walk in this rainforest area;

  6. Bay of Fires:- Walk along the white squeaky sandy beaches and climb the red lichen covered dolerite rocks near the beach and marvel at the mix of colours and textures;

  7. Bicheno:- Stop overnight at Beachfront Bicheno hotel after visiting the Gulch and Blowhole and take a Penguin Safari after dark;

 

Day 2

  1. Freycinet National Park:- Climb to the top of the Wineglass Bay lookout and drive to the lighthouse at Cape Tourville for spectacular views across the bay and up and down the east coast and explore the holiday village of Coles Bay;

  2. Optional tour from Coles Bay at 09:00 with the spectacular Wineglass Bay Cruise from Coles Bay via Schouten Island and Wineglass Bay with lunch;

  3. Ross:- Drive to Ross village to explore the prettiest colonial Bridge and Churches in the area before returning to Launceston.

  4. Launceston:- Drop off at hotel accommodation.
