Trowunna Wildlife Park & Mole Creek Caves

Be amazed by the natural formations of Tasmania's caves and native animals on our Mole Creek tour.

 

At Trowunna you can see more than 35 species of birds and native animals and see Tasmanian devils being hand fed.

Marakoopa and King Solomons caves at Mole Creek provide a wonderful opportunity to take a deeper look into the fascinating world of 'karst' limestone landscapes.

Mole Creek limestone caves

At the foot of the Great Western Tiers sits Trowunna Wildlife Park near Mole Creek, not far from Cradle Mountain.

The Mole Creek Karst National Park was declared in 1996 to provide protection for some of the finest and most visited cave systems in Tasmania and includes Marakoopa and King Solomons Caves.

Itinerary

  • Pick up from Launceston CBD at 09:00;

  • Drop off in Launceston CBD at around17:00;

  • Tour Duration approximately 8 hours;

  • Entry fees included for 1 x Mole Creek Cave and the Trowunna Wildlife park .

 

  1. Chudleigh:- Visit the Melita Honey Farm for all things honey related. (Not open on Saturdays) ;

  2. Mole Creek:- Visit Trowunna Wildlife Park and get up close and personal with our endemic wildlife and stop for lunch in historic Mole Creek;

  3. Wild Caves:- Visit King Solomons or Marakoopa caves and experience underground life in another dimension.

  4. Alum Cliffs-Tulampanga:-  this lookout is located high above the Mersey River as it flows along the valley through Alum Cliffs Gorge and is reached via an enchanting short walk.

  5. Elizabeth Town:- Visit Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm and test the chocolate covered fruits;

  6. Launceston's Cataract Gorge:- Stroll around the gorge and over the suspension bridge and learn about the early history of Launceston and spot native animals en route if time permits.​
